We believe that sustainable farming represents a way forward for American agriculture. But if it’s a way forward, it also looks back to a lifestyle that held sway for generations in western North Carolina, before agriculture gave way to big agribusiness. At Echoview Farm, we understand that sustainable farming is a way to reclaim the dignity of the farming life—men and women nurturing life out of the very ground, cooperating with nature rather than conquering it. It’s a life of spirited independence, recalling a time when small farmers were still able to make it on their own
